An Overview of Unito's Smartsheet Integration

Looking to add Smartsheet to your workflow? Here's what you can expect from our integration.

What does this article cover?

Unito can sync Smartsheet rows with work items (e.g., tasks, tickets, events, etc.) in other tools with automated 2-way updates on either end. By creating a Unito flow, you'll be able to keep Smartsheet and your other tool(s) refreshed in real-time whenever changes are made from end-to-end.

This article will give you an overview of supported functionality in Smartsheet, as well as the limitations of Unito's integration.

Supported Smartsheet fields and other features

Most of Smartsheet's columns, such as Date, Text, Number, Dropdown, and Checkbox can be synced, mapped, and used in rules

Quick definitions:

    • One-Way: Changes to the Smartsheet row will appear in the other synced field but not vice versa.
    • Two-Way: Changes to either synced field will appear in the other.
    • Rules: This Smartsheet field can be used as a trigger in your rules to filter work items from syncing with Unito.

Note: The Predecessor column can only be synced from Smartsheet to another tool — and not back. Other fields in tasks with a predecessor will still be synced in both directions.

What counts as an item in sync?

For Smartsheet, Unito counts every synced row as an item in sync.

Limitations and compatibility

Some of Smartsheet's columns can't be synced with Unito just yet. That means you can't use them in customized mappings or your rules. These columns are:

  • People

  • Symbols

  • Auto-Number/Systemfield

  • Predecessors

Keep in mind that you also won't be able to sign up to Unito with your Smartsheet account. Make sure to use another tool account or an email/password combination.
