      An Overview of Unito's ClickUp Integration

      Ready to start syncing ClickUp tasks to your other tools? Here's all you need to know.

      What does Unito sync from ClickUp?

      Unito syncs tasks and subtasks from ClickUp via lists within Spaces, rather than from entire Spaces or folders. 

      If you'd like to sync tasks from multiple lists within the same Space, you can create one flow for the first list, then duplicate that flow and edit it to sync tasks from other lists in that Space.

      ClickUp Terminology

      • Workspace: This is a top-level container for housing different ClickUp Spaces.
      • Space: ClickUp Spaces represent mid-level containers nested within a Workspace. This is where you can find lists to sync with Unito.
      • List: A list is a collection (or block of work in Unito terms) of tasks. 
      • Tasks and subtasks: The individual work items that count as items in sync with Unito.

      Which ClickUp fields can Unito sync?

      Here's a list of the fields you can currently sync to — and from — ClickUp, as well as which ones can be used in rules.

      Other fields aren't currently supported, but we're working hard to make this integration more robust and flexible.

      Quick definitions:

        • One-Way: Changes to the ClickUp task field will appear in the other synced field but not vice versa.
        • Two-Way: Changes to either synced field will appear in the other.
        • Rules: This task field can be used as a trigger in your rules to filter work items from syncing with Unito.

      Here are some other things you can do with our ClickUp integration:

      What counts as an item in sync?

      For ClickUp, both tasks and subtasks count as items in sync. So if you sync a ClickUp task that has a subtask, Unito will count this as two items in sync. 

      Connecting ClickUp to your Unito account

      Once you've signed up for Unito, here's how you can connect ClickUp to your account.

      1. Log in to your Unito workspace.
      2. Click on connect a tool or select your profile icon in the top-right, then integrations. Both lead to the same page. Dashboard Cards 1
      3. Next, look for ClickUp and select connect account.

      5. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect your ClickUp workspace.

      And that's it! Now you can start syncing ClickUp with any of our other integrations.

      Start building your first ClickUp flow with Unito

      Here are a couple of step-by-step guides to get you started with flows between ClickUp and Google Sheets or ClickUp and Google Calendar. Working with another app or tool? No problem! The same steps and principles highlighted in those walkthroughs apply to other Unito integrations as well.

      Limitations and other considerations

      We’re constantly looking to better support ClickUp’s growing list of features, fields, and use-cases. Here are a few common limitations you should be aware of:

      • Rules: Currently, you can only build rules using the status or assignee fields.

      • Rich text: Not currently supported. That means no bolding text, bullet points, or emojis.😢

      • Custom fields: ClickUp's Free Forever Plan limits custom field usage to 100 operations. Any time you set, edit, or sync a value in a custom field, an operation will be counted against that limit. If you're using ClickUp's Free Forever Plan, custom fields may suddenly stop syncing when you hit this limit. You can find more information on this in ClickUp's Help Center.

      • Threaded comments: Unito's integration for ClickUp doesn't currently support threaded comments. Only top-level comments can be synced.
