An Overview of Unito's Linear Integration

Connecting Linear with Unito? Here's what you can expect from this integration.

In this article:

What Unito syncs from Linear

Unito syncs these Linear work item types with items in other tools (for example, Asana tasks, Jira work items or Zendesk tickets):

  • Issues
  • Projects
  • Project milestones
  • Teams
  • Labels
  • Cycles
  • Statuses
  • Comments
  • Attachments
  • Users and members (read only)

Supported field types

Unito supports these Linear field types:

  • Number
  • Text
  • Rich text
  • Enums (single and multi select)
  • Date
  • Datetime
  • User
  • Lookups
  • Labels

Most fields sync both ways: a change in Linear shows up in the other tool, and a change in the other tool shows up in Linear. A few fields, like Created At, can only be read from Linear, so they sync one way.

Highlighted features

  • Attachments: Unito syncs binary attachments from other tools into Linear.
  • Comments: Unito syncs comments on Linear issues.
  • Rich text sync: Formatting carries over in every rich text field, including comments.
  • Mixed Hierarchies: Keep levels that are different item types connected across tools, such as Linear projects, issues and sub-issues. This needs the Issues (Hierarchy) option.
  • Lookups: Sync fields that link to another item, such as Assignee, Cycle, Project or Labels. You can sync the label only, or sync the linked item as its own flow.
  • Issues: hierarchy or flat. When you pick what to sync, Linear issues come in two options:
    • Issues (Hierarchy): syncs issues with their parent and sub-issue relationships preserved.
    • Issues (Flat): syncs issues as a flat list.
