Limitations of Unito's Salesforce Integration

Here's a breakdown of what Unito's Salesforce integration can't do yet — and a few other considerations.

Unito's Salesforce integration is designed to get crucial data out of your organization and into other tools. You've seen what Unito can do for Salesforce users, so this article will cover what it can't do — yet.

Note that you can use this integration to sync Salesforce tasks, contacts, and opportunities. Unito's limitations are a bit different for each work item.

What does this article cover?

Limitations for Salesforce

  • Unsupported Salesforce editions: API access isn't offered with all Salesforce editions, but it's essential to integrate Salesforce with other tools. You'll only be able to use Unito with Salesforce if you have one of these Salesforce editions: Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer, or Performance.

Limitations for syncing Salesforce tasks

  • Syncing or filtering by assignee: You won't be able to sync Salesforce assignees to other tools just yet.

  • Attachments: These aren't currently supported.
  • Comments: Our integration doesn't currently support this.

  • Webhooks: Since this integration doesn't support webhooks, it'll take about 5 minutes for changes in Salesforce to sync to other tools.

  • Sandbox accounts: These accounts aren't currently supported.
  • Account Name mapping: This field needs to be mapped to a Text custom field in your other tool.
  • Signing up for Unito with Salesforce: This isn't supported. You'll need to sign up using a different tool account or an email.
  • Related to: This field isn't supported by Unito.
  • Edited comments: When you edit comments in Salesforce, these edits won't be synced over to other organizations or other tools. That's because Unito only syncs new comments, not any edits to existing comments.

Limitations for syncing Salesforce contacts

  • Sandbox accounts: These accounts aren't currently supported.
  • Flow direction: Currently, Salesforce contacts can only be synced in one direction — from Salesforce to other tools.
  • Account Name and Campaigns: These fields can only be mapped to a Text custom field in your other tool.
  • Workflow designer: Currently you can't use the workflow designer when syncing Salesforce contacts.
  • Merging with other work items: You can only merge Salesforce contacts with contacts from other tools. You couldn't merge a Salesforce contact with an Asana task, for example.
  • Signing up for Unito with Salesforce: This isn't supported. You'll need to sign up using a different tool account or an email.
  • Attachments: These aren't currently supported.
  • Comments: Our integration doesn't currently support this.

  • Webhooks: Since this integration doesn't support webhooks, it'll take about 5 minutes for changes in Salesforce to sync to other tools.
  • Dropdowns: Unito only supports single-select dropdowns, not multi-select dropdowns.

Limitations for syncing Salesforce opportunities

  • Sandbox accounts: These accounts aren't currently supported.
  • Account Name and Campaign: currently, these fields can only be synced to the Description Footer field in other tools.
  • Workflow designer: Currently you can't use the workflow designer when syncing Salesforce contacts.
  • Close date: This field has to be mapped, and it needs to have a value to be synced.
