Limitations of Unito's Mailchimp Integration

Here's a breakdown of what Unito's Mailchimp integration can't do yet — and a few other considerations.

Unito's Mailchimp integration is designed to get crucial data out of your contacts and into other tools. You've seen what Unito can do for Mailchimp users, so this article will cover what it can't do — yet.

  • Syncing addresses: You can sync addresses from Mailchimp to other tools, but you'll need to make sure you properly map the Street, City, State/Province/Region and Postal/Zip fields.

  • Syncing the Birthday field: This field can only be synced from Mailchimp to other tools.

  • Two-way flows: You can build two-way flows when syncing contacts to and from Mailchimp. When syncing other work items, however, you can only set up a one-way create two-way update flow.

  • The Opt-In field: When a Unito flow creates a new contact in Mailchimp, the Opt-In field will be automatically checked.

  • Contact merging: This Unito feature keeps your Mailchimp contacts from getting duplicated as you sync them. Here's how it works.

  • Live-sync: Due to limitations in Mailchimp’s API, we can’t sync changes in real-time. We use webhooks to do this, which aren’t available for this integration.
