Connect JIRA or GitHub Enterprise
Some tools need to be set up before you can connect them to Unito.
JIRA
Follow these easy steps in JIRA to configure it for Unito access.
Github Enterprise
Follow these easy steps in Github to configure it for Unito access.
Create a Bot User
When you connect your favorite tools, the system will use your connectors to perform the syncs between the two platforms. This means these connectors will be designated as the source of any changes/comments synced.
Normally you start by connecting your personal users, so every action (creating a task, closing it, commenting, etc.) will be replicated under your name...
With a Bot User, you remove this confusion as the action owner becomes the neutral user.
Setup a Sync
Creating a quick sync is as easy as pie. After adding connectors for your favorite tools, you just have to choose the projects you want to connect and the sync starts automatically!
Advanced Settings
We want to make sure your Sync syncs up with how you work with your teams, so we added settings to help you customize the sync behavior.
You can access these settings either when you review a new Sync (click on the "Customize" checkbox):
Or directly in your Unito App, when your sync is already created:
Sync your Tool users
Unito automatically maps your active users from both tools when they are using the same email address in each. If the emails don't match, you'll need to help the system a little so it knows who is who. Check your user's mapping in the "Map Fields" tab of your Sync settings, under the "Map Users" sub-tab.
Sync Your Workflows
If you're working with tools that allow complex task statuses and workflows, we let you map them across apps to best fit your team's workflow. As for user mapping, Unito tries to auto-map them based on our best guess, but we advise you to double-check! Go to your Sync settings under the "Map Fields" tab.
Sync Priorities and Importance
Some tools let you give priority or importance level to certain tasks. Unito syncs those too, but make sure they are correctly mapped in your Sync settings under the "Map Fields" tab.
Customize Field Synchronization
When you setup a sync between two tools, Unito automatically matches equivalent fields and synchronizes their data. But while defaults are great to get started, your workflow probably has some unique behavior or an extra field you absolutely want to sync up.
Here's a quick article on which fields to customize and how they are synchronized
Filters Tasks and Issues
Unito doesn't limit itself to properly syncing every task and issue in a project; filters helps you create powerful workflows between your teams. Choose which tasks or issues you want synced with our Filter feature!
Warning
We recommend you setup filters when creating your Sync. The filter will only be applied to new tasks and issues and not the ones already synced.
Sync Subtasks
Subtask support depends on the tool you are using. While some tools support infinite levels of subtasks (e.g. Wrike) others don't support subtasks at all (e.g. Github).
Sync Labels and Tags
Labels and Tags are an important part of how many companies organize their tasks. With Unito, these tools become even more flexible! Not only can you sync labels and tags across tools - you can also use them to customize what gets synced in general.

Sync File Attachments
Files are so crucial when collaborating with your teammates that Unito wouldn't be a killer app without syncing them!
File attachments are synced by default as a list of links inside the task description. You can easily tweak this behavior for each tool in your Sync settings leaving you in total control.
Share a Sync
If there are multiple people in your organization who need to create and manage Syncs, it is very likely that you will need to share Syncs between you. For example, you might want to tweak the settings of a Sync created by a colleague.
