A Primer on Unito's Teamwork Integration

Our Teamwork integration is currently in beta, so it works a bit differently than our other integrations.

How does this beta work?

An integration beta is our way of measuring interest in a specific integration. You might have already seen our upcoming integrations page, which we use to gauge interest in new integrations. This feedback helps us tinker with our roadmap and directs our development work.

This is the next step in that process. Our Teamwork integration is now in beta, meaning you can start connecting it to your Unito account. That said, there are a few differences between a beta integration and a regular integration.

Synced fields (and other features)

Here's a list of the fields you can currently sync to — and from — Teamwork:

  • Title

  • Description

  • Status

  • Due Date

Other fields aren't currently supported, but we're working hard to make this integration more robust and flexible.

Here are some other things you can do with our Teamwork integration:

  • Sync Teamwork projects to projects and boards in other tools

  • Create Teamwork projects directly from Unito

In short, you won't be able to sync as many fields with a beta integration as you would with our other integrations. That said, the tradeoff is you can try completely new things, like creating Teamwork projects in Unito! If there's something you'd like to see from this integration that we're not doing yet, please reach out to us! Your feedback helps us focus our efforts.

Note: In order to create Teamwork projects from Unito, you must have administrator permissions in Teamwork or permission to add projects. If you don't have these permissions, reach out to someone who has administrator permissions.

What counts as an item in sync?

For Teamwork, Unito counts every synced task as an item in sync.

What this integration doesn't support (yet!)

Because this is a beta, there are some features you might be used to from other integrations that aren't yet available with Teamwork:

  • You won't be able to log in to Unito with your Teamwork account; you'll have to use an account from another tool or the email and password you used to sign up.

We're constantly working to improve our integrations. Check back soon to see what we've been working on!

Necessary permissions

In order to properly sync tasks, Unito users need to be a Client User in Teamwork and not just a Collaborator.

Beyond that, Unito only needs special permissions if you want to create Teamwork projects directly from Unito. To do this, you must have administrator permissions in Teamwork or permission to add projects. If you don't have these permissions, reach out to someone who has administrator permissions.

Connecting Teamwork to your Unito account

If you don't have a Unito account, you'll need to sign up. You can do this either through another work management tool — like Asana or Jira — or with an email address and password.

If you already have a Unito account, here's how you can connect Teamwork to it.

Go to your workspace.

Click on "integrations."

Find Teamwork in the list and click on "connect account."

Follow the on-screen prompts.

And that's it! Now you can start syncing Teamwork with any of our other integrations.

*Note that you can also add Teamwork to your Unito account through the regular sync creation flow.
