A Guide to Flow Status

With flow status, you can check the health of your flows and get pointers on fixing common errors.

What this article covers:

All flow statuses and what they mean

Here's a quick breakdown of every flow status and what it means. You'll find more detailed information below.

  • Healthy: Your flow is running just fine, with no detected issues.

  • Unable to sync: An issue is preventing your flow from syncing any changes.

  • Initial sync in progress: You've just finished creating your flow, and it's going to take a few minutes to go through your blocks of work and sync changes.

  • Syncing: Unito picked up updates in one tool and is syncing them to the other.

  • Suspended: Usually, you'll see this status when your flows are paused, either because your trial has ended or your subscription hasn't been paid.

  • Draft: You've started creating this flow but haven't launched it yet.

  • Status not available: This flow status usually means there's an issue with the flow status service, but not the flow itself. Not to worry, though! Refresh your page once or twice and you should get an updated flow status. If that doesn't work, try a hard refresh (by hitting CMD+Shift+R on a Mac or CTRL+Shift+R on a PC).

How to check your flow's health

When you go to the Your Flows screen, you'll find a flow status attached to each flow. There are two possible options: Healthy and Unable to sync. Here's what each one means:

  • Healthy: Everything's working great.

  • Unable to sync: An issue is preventing your flow from working and needs to be fixed. A deleted project is an example of this kind of issue.

With this new feature, a quick glance at your flow list is enough to make sure everything's in working order.

How to check a flow's progress

Flow health isn't the only thing you can check with flow status. While your flow is syncing, you'll get one of these two statuses:

  • Initial sync in progress: You should only see this status after creating a brand new flow. The initial sync can take some time since we might need to retroactively check multiple tasks.

  • Sync in progress: Depending on your plan, we'll either check for changes in your synced tasks every few minutes or we'll update your tasks whenever a change is made. In either case, this status appears to let you know any changes you've made to tasks and projects are currently being updated across your flow.

Fixing common errors with flow status

Flow health tells you which flows need your attention to keep working properly, but that's not the only thing it can do. When you edit a flow with an Unable to sync status, you'll see a To do list in the Activity screen. This will list issues keeping your flows from working properly. Click on one...

...and you'll get more details on the issue. In this screen, you'll see where the issue's coming from, while the Solution field gives you a step-by-step process for fixing it, with helpful links to guide you through it. Hopefully, this helps you solve any problems preventing your flows from working properly.
